Online Trauma Therapy for Adults

Serving Washington and 40+ PSYPACT States

YOU’RE EXHAUSTED FROM THE CONSTANT BATTLE AGAINST YOUR THOUGHTS AND EMOTIONS.

Trauma can change how you experience the world, relate to other people, and how safe you feel in your own skin. Maybe something happened recently that you can't stop thinking about, or something happened long ago that continues to haunt you. You might feel on edge, disconnected, stuck in old patterns, or exhausted from trying to keep up with your own thoughts.

I'm Dr. Annie Mueller, a licensed clinical psychologist offering online trauma therapy for adults in Washington and participating PSYPACT states. My approach to therapy is evidence-based, collaborative, and warm. Together, we'll work to understand how your experiences are affecting you now, develop practical tools for navigating painful thoughts and emotions, and help you feel like an active participant in life again.

struggling to trust people.

SLEEPING LIKE TOTAL GARBAGE.

IMAGINE A LIFE WHERE…

You let go of the guilt you’ve been carrying.

Memories of the past don't have the same power to derail your present.

You can enjoy an outing with your family or friends without a million safeguards in place.

You’ve got a toolkit to manage distress when it happens.

You can let people get closer without feeling like you have to stay on guard all the time.

You can acknowledge what happened without letting it define who you are or determine what comes next.

Here’s what we’ll do together

TRAUMA-FOCUSED THERAPY CAN PUT YOU BACK IN THE DRIVER’S SEAT OF YOUR life.

Making room for what’s next.

Trauma can leave you feeling like you're reacting to life rather than actually living it. You’ve probably gotten really good at anticipating problems, keeping everyone else happy, or pushing through discomfort. Those strategies might have helped you get through difficult experiences, but they can become exhausting when they are the only tools in the toolbox.

Trauma therapy can help you understand how your experiences affect you today and figure out what you need to move forward. We'll work together to help you recognize patterns that no longer serve you, build practical skills for managing difficult emotions, and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself.

My approach is collaborative, flexible, and grounded in evidence-based treatments such as Prolonged Exposure therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I will be honest: trauma therapy is hard work and can feel uncomfortable at times, but the potential payoff is huge.

We'll work at a pace that feels manageable, with attention to what matters most to you. You won't be handed a one-size-fits-all treatment plan or told to just think more positively.

Trauma may be part of your story, but it doesn't have to run the show.

TRAUMA THERAPY ONLINE CAN HELP YOU:

Feel less on edge and better able to manage trauma-related anxiety and distress.

Trauma can leave you feeling like you always need to be prepared for the worst. You might startle easily, struggle to relax, or feel overwhelmed by reactions you don't even fully understand. Therapy can help you learn to respond to these experiences differently, so they have less control over your day-to-day life.

01

Understand and recognize patterns that keep you stuck.

Sometimes the connection between past experiences and present-day struggles isn’t so obvious. You might notice recurring relationship difficulties, a tendency to avoid uncomfortable situations, or a harsh inner critic without realizing where those patterns came from. Therapy can help you make sense of these connections and decide which patterns you want to change.

02

Work through painful memories and beliefs that contribute to guilt, anger, shame, or self-blame.

Traumatic experiences can leave you questioning yourself, blaming yourself for what happened, or holding yourself to impossible standards. Trauma therapies such as Cognitive Processing Therapy or Prolonged Exposure therapy can help you examine the beliefs you've developed about yourself, other people, and the world in the aftermath of trauma. The goal is to develop a more balanced understanding of what happened and what it means for you now.

03

Spend less time avoiding reminders of the past and more time engaging in the life you want to live.

Avoidance can make sense when something feels threatening, but over time, it can shrink your world and keep fear in the driver's seat. Trauma treatment helps you gradually approach trauma-related memories and situations you've been avoiding, in a structured and supported way. With practice, you can learn that distress is manageable and that you have more freedom to participate in the people, places, and experiences that matter to you.
